-
Freshman applicants to UC Berkeley
Undergraduate admission is directed by Cal's Office
of Undergraduate Admission and Relations with Schools. Freshman
admission is highly competitive. As part of the application process,
applicants may select Environmental Sciences in CNR as their major.
Students who selected ES in the College of Natural Resources as their
major enter the university as declared ES majors. The College of Natural
Resources does not review the files for freshman admission. Questions
about freshman admission to UC Berkeley should be directed to the Office
of Undergraduate Admission and Relations with Schools.
- Transfer
applicants to UC Berkeley
Transfer student admission is also directed by Cal's Office
of Undergraduate Admission and Relations with Schools. Transfer
students who apply to the College of Natural Resources must apply to
a major. The College of Natural Resources does not admit transfer students
as "Undeclared."
For admission
to Environmental Sciences in CNR, students must complete the Environmental
Sciences lower division biology requirements, chemistry requirements,
math requirements, and, if possible, the physics, economics, and environmental
sciences requirements. Use Assist.org
to find articulated courses for California community colleges. In
addition, applicants from California community colleges should complete
IGETC. Students who wish to transfer from somewhere other than a California
community college should contact the ES advisor
if they need help determining the appropriate prerequisite courses.
Transfer applicants
will be evaluated based on the strength of their academic preparation
including the number of fulfilled requirements, the grade point average
in the required courses, and their cumulative GPA.
